To share Windows XP PC’s files and printers with others PC’s in the network, Please follow these steps.

TO SHARE A FOLDER (Please note you can not share a file directly, you have to share the folder in which the files resides to share that file).

• Right-click any folder that you want to share it with other PC’s.
• From pop-up menu select “sharing and security” option.
• In the ‘sharing’ tab select “share this folder on the network” option and give a sharename for the share folder.

To SHARE A PRINTER on the network

• Click on ‘start’ button on left hand side corner of your PC.
• Click on ‘settings’ option and select ‘printers and faxs’.
• Right-click on pritner icon and select ‘properties’ tab and follow the instruction.

The other way to share a printer

• Go to control panel(start – control panel).
• Select ‘printers and faxs’ icon.
• Right-click on printer icon and select ‘properties’ tab and follow the instruction.
