IMPORTANT KEYBOARD FUNCTIONS

ENTER - ENTER key executes a command. ENTER takes you to a new line, any section of the document to the right and below the cursor will go onto a new line.
Enter can be used to increase the space between two paragraphs etc.

BACKSPACE – Erases and delete information to the left of the cursor. closes space between paragraphs etc. Most of its functions are the reverse of the enter key.

DELETE – Erases characters to the right of the cursor.

SPACE BAR - Is the largest key on your keyboard. It is used to create space between your text. When depressed, all information to the right of the cursor will move to
the right.

CAPS LOCK- It is activated by pressing caps lock key. You activate when you need to type a couple of words or more in full capitals. When activated a light comes on,
on the keyboard ( top left hand side of the key board). Light goes off when key is pressed a second time.

SHIFT KEY - This key has two main functions.
1. When pressed simultaneously with any alphabet on the keyboard this alphabet will be
capitalized.
2. You get all the upper case characters on your keyboard. Example if you press SHIFT KEY + !/1, keys simultaneously, only the upper case characters % will be displayed on your monitor. If you press the !/1 key alone 1 alone will be displayed on your monitor or the lower case character.

TAB KEY – creates indent spacing from the left margin.
